Our flight home on Saturday didn't leave until the evening, so we had some free time Saturday morning/early afternoon. We let the kids sleep in, and then we actually fed the kids a real Disney breakfast instead of yogurt and granola bars waiting in line for a bus. Samuel was a big fan of the Mickey waffles.
We also took time to walk around the resort and take a few pictures. Matt and I stayed at Pop Century on our first Disney World trip and Matt wanted to recreate a picture of me with Mrs. Potato Head.
We stayed in the 90s building. They had some fun decorations.
We laughed when Samuel pointed to the CD and told Nathan that it was a Poke Ball.
After breakfast, we packed up and checked out of our hotel. So Sad. Then we had a few hours before we needed to be back to catch the bus to the airport, so we took a bus to Disney Springs. Nathan had some birthday money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to check out the Lego Store.
He ended up deciding what he wanted and then ordered it on Amazon, since it was too big to take on the airplane.
We did some souvenir shopping at the giant Disney Store too.
We also stopped at the Ghiradelli store- at my request.
Katherine snoozed while we shopped.
And poor Matt carried a sleeping four year old from the bus stop all through our resort to wait for the bus to the airport. She was out.
It was a bittersweet ride to the airport- reflecting on a wonderful vacation but so so sad it was over.
I'm so very grateful for the opportunity to spend a magical week with my very favorite people. We all made lifelong memories. There's really nothing that compares to Disney World for me. It's a very special place to me and my family. I especially like that we've been a few times now and every time we're there we make new memories but also reminisce on previous vacations. They kids grew so much in the last 2.5 years since our last visit, and our vacation this time was drastically different than when Matt and I visited before any of our kids were born.
I loved my fact researching/planner Nathan who always wanted to know our entire schedule everyday and was our personal tour guide with all his YouTube and book knowledge. And I loved figuring out Samuel's unique interests and making his personal dreams come true, and I'm always amazed at his patience and contentment and lack of complaining regardless of the circumstance. And my princess loving/thrill ride loving four year old was a joy to experience everything with. And sweet Baby Katherine reminded all of us to find magic in the simple things. She didn't need a crazy realistic 4D simulator ride to be happy, she just needed to blow a kiss to Mickey, ride a horsey, and eat some ice cream. She was a handful but added so much magic to our vacation. All the kids were so excited to watch her reactions to all the characters. I'm dreaming of taking them back in a few years, and I can't imagine how different it will be when they're all older- I'm hoping it's still as magical.
