Disney World Day 5- Part 2

We took a long break Wednesday afternoon to rest up for another late evening. The kids all napped, and we ended up at Magic Kingdom around 6:30 that night. We stopped for more pictures in front of the castle and ended up with some great ones!

We hadn't been over to Tomorrowland yet during our visit, so we went there first to ride Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

Of course Matt had to  document his score. I'm pretty sure his score was 100,000 higher than me.

After the Buzz Lightyear ride, we waited for the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor show. That was a great show- so funny! We all laughed so much. Matt said it was his favorite (non fireworks) show of the trip. Those comedians were great. I'm glad we took the time to watch it.

After that show, we decided to go ahead and find a spot to watch the fireworks. We hadn't eaten dinner because of our late lunch (and my motto of no eating or sleeping, ha!), so Elisabeth and I headed off to grab some churros and pretzels for dinner. We also met up with the Dalmans for the fireworks show. It was fun to see them again and watch the fireworks together.

A few years ago, the kids came up with the tradition of doing a best day ever cheer at the end of every time they get together. I think it took on a new meaning at Disney World.

The fireworks show was as good as on Sunday night. I'm so glad we got to watch them twice. Matt and I both noticed new details or different things that we hadn't remembered from the first time watching them.

After the fireworks we spent some time in Fantasyland. Elisabeth really wanted to meet Elena of Avalor- even though she never watches her show and doesn't know anything about her. She always wanted to meet every character though and since it was a princess, she was adamant about it. Thankfully, the line was short after the fireworks, so we took the time to meet her, and we got to meet Cinderella again too, since she was at the same character greet.

Our plan was to ride Space Mountain after the fireworks because we were hoping the line would be short. Unfortunately it was closed, so we stayed in Fantasyland and rode a few more rides. Katherine pointed to the horseys as we were walking by, so we took a detour to ride the carousel another time with her.

We also rode the tea cups. Elisabeth loves the tea cups. The big kids wanted to spin fast, so Matt rode with them and made them all dizzy.

The kids also rode the Barnstormer roller coaster- I happily sat that one out with Katherine, but I'm glad the kids got to ride it. While Katherine and I were waiting for them to ride, she kept pointing and asking to ride Dumbo, so we rode that again too. Nathan was a little grumpy- spending his extra magic hours riding kiddie rides that usually don't have a long wait, but we were teaching him a lesson that the trip is not all about him and giving him some grace because we knew he was exhausted.

Space Mountain was still closed after we finished up at Fantasyland, but we went ahead and walked back to Tomorrowland to see the last few attractions we hadn't ridden yet. We rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, and Nathan was so, so excited that Space Mountain was closed at that time because the Transit Authority ride passes through Space Mountain, and since it was closed, the lights were on and we got to see the track (another nugget he learned from YouTube). I kind of laughed at him for being so excited about that, but it was neat to see the roller coaster with the lights on.

Matt was impressed too and took a couple of pictures. We were surprised with how small the coaster actually is. It seems so different on the ride in the dark.

When we finished the Transit Authority it was getting close to 11:00 and the kids were wearing out fast. Elisabeth was even asking to go back to the hotel so she could go to bed. We decided to ride the Astro Orbiter- since it usually has a longer line during the day than we want to wait in and then we were going to leave. It was neat to see Magic Kingdom at night from the top of the Astro Orbiter. And we could check it off our list so the kids didn't give us a hard time about wanting to ride it.

So we got off Astro Orbiter, and Matt and I lost our minds again. Space Mountain had reopened with only a 20 minute wait. The kids were done- except Nathan who was begging to ride it. And once again we decided that we should ride it at midnight instead of risking a longer line/another breakdown/change of plans that might prevent us from riding it. We did have a fastpass for it the next day, but rider sawp is usually a big pain on Space Mountain because the fastpass line is still sort of long to have to wait in twice, and rider swap during extra magic hours works so much more efficiently, so our crazy took over and we all got in line. We lose our minds at Disney World- #DisneyCrazy

We shut the park down at midnight and finally went back to hotel for some sleep. Samuel was asleep standing up in between my legs.
