Our first stop on our cruise was Cozumel. We had all been to Cozumel before on a previous cruise and were excited to go back.
The thing I remembered most about Cozumel was how clear and beautiful the water was. It was the clearest most beautiful water I had seen (up until this cruise). Because we knew the water was beautiful we booked a clear kayak/snorkeling excursion.
Our guide took us to a nearby resort to start our day.
We were excited to get going in our kayak.
One of the cool surprises of our day was that the resort was nearby a dolphin attraction, and we got to kayak right up next to it and watch the dolphins through the fence.
We also kayaked around a small reef and had the chance to see some schools of fish. I still can't get over how clear the water is that we could actually look down through our kayak and see fish and sea life.
After we kayaked we snorkeled along the shore. It wasn't our favorite snorkeling experience, but we still did get to see a lot.
There were a lot of people in our group and we tried to all stay close to the guide, so we kept running into other people, but it was still fun.
The guide pointed out a stingray swimming along near a reef which was cool to see.
When we finished snorkeling, we relaxed and caught up with pictures of the kids since the resort had free wifi.
Then we headed back to port, grabbed some lunch and walked around some shops and browsed for a bit before we headed off to our next destination. Going into our day at Cozumel, I had expectations that it would be my favorite stop/excursion, but I was wrong- not because it wasn't a really fun day, but we just had lots of other fun that was to come!
