Easter Celebrations

We enjoyed a special weekend celebrating Easter with family and friends.

On Friday afternoon, we joined our CHEER friends for an Easter egg hunt.
It's such a fun afternoon for the kids to search for eggs and play with their friends.

Some of the eggs had tickets in them, and Mrs. Kelsey did a raffle drawing for bigger prizes.
Samuel won one and was so excited to hear his number called. It was one of the last numbers drawn.

On Easter Sunday, we snapped a few pictures before heading off to church. The kids clean up nicely!

Before we left, we let them open their Easter baskets (a bribe for them to get ready on time, ha!). They weren't full of anything big, just some summer sandals, candy, and pringles and an annual Easter card from Granny and Grandaddy.

After church, the Millers and Papa Joe came over for Easter lunch.

Elisabeth made our annual bird's nest cake for dessert. Katherine and I baked the cake, but she decorated it all on her own.
Then, while the kids played, the adults played Quacks of Quedlinburg. I sacrificed my Sunday afternoon nap for board games, but Nathan got a nap in!

He had stayed up way too late at a friend's sleepover birthday party on Friday night, and the lack of sleep caught up with him.

That evening Matt hid eggs in the backyard for the kids. We put coins in the eggs this year, and Matt rewarded all egg hunters with the promise of QT ice cream cones the next time we were out.

It was a wonderful holiday spent with my favorite people celebrating a Risen Savior.
