March Madness

We've been easing into Spring over here and have been busy with school, field trips and celebrations. 

The kids worked on a service project at co op and decorated boxes for a food ministry. Samuel's attention to detail always impresses me. 

There are many frustrating moments in homeschooling, but there are even more rewards- like this writing assignment from Elisabeth. 

These girls are best friends at Pre-K. I can't believe they'll be graduating soon and moving on to Kindergarten. 

Elisabeth has been in a cup stacking phase lately. She always sends me pictures of her creations, and I'm always amazed.

Samuel and Elisabeth have learned so much about swimming creatures this year in their science class. They're looking forward to learning about land animals next year. 

They have the most creative teachers!

Katherine was so excited to celebrate Avery's birthday. These girls are sweet friends. 

Sunday evenings are often game nights in our house. The kids beat us in the kids vs. adults round of code names. They've haven't let us forget it either. 

We had a belated birthday dinner to celebrate Chandra and my birthdays with my favorite cake for dessert. We even let the guys tag along with us for that special dinner. 

Our homeschool group toured Central Library in downtown Tulsa one morning. We all learned a lot about the many resources available at the library. 

Is it even a trip to the library without finding the Dog Man section??? They're not my favorite, but they are these boys' favorites. 

These kiddos have been such a blessing to us as we've continued homeschooling this year. It's the greatest group of families!

Samuel turned 10 in March! He requested a small party with four friends that included unlimited video game time, pizza, snacks and frozen s'mores (made by Nathan). His party fit his personality, and he had a wonderful afternoon with his goofy friends. 

There was a lot of this happening in my living room. 

At some point in my parenting journey, I randomly told Nathan he wasn't allowed to drink Mountain Dew until he was 10 (I have no memory of this- but he insists that I did). So, Samuel has been patiently waiting for his turn to try it. I think he liked it. 

His giant smile is my favorite thing! I'm so glad he had such a fun afternoon celebrating with his friends. 

The next day it was time to celebrate Laura's fifth birthday. We had fun celebrating her!

These girls have been best friends since they were born. They have the cutest friendship. 

We continued celebrating Samuel Saturday evneing with dinner at his favorite restaurant- Hideaway. They brought out pizza dough to play with while our food was cooking. Katherine and Abigail had a ball with it. 

Katherine's Sunday school teacher sent me this sweet picture of her one morning at church. We get to be in her classroom a couple of times a month too.
