Soccer Brothers
We are in the middle of soccer season and having so much fun! Because of the way the boys' birthdays fall (Samuel just turned 4, and Nathan hadn't turned 6 when the season started), they were both able to play in the same age division and are on the same team. It's been super convenient to only have to worry about one practice and game schedule, and it's also been super fun to watch them play together.
They're always next to each other during practice, talking and playing. Nathan looks out for Samuel, and Samuel looks up to Nathan. I love their close relationship and how much they are enjoying being on the same team.
Samuel is obviously one of the youngest on his team and gets frustrated occasionally during games when he doesn't get the ball much, but he's improved a lot in the short season so far. He's catching on and doing much better.
I've seen a lot of improvement in Nathan from last year to this year in his speed, concentration and understanding of the game. I'm not sure how many more years he'll want to play, but he's having fun this year.
Snacks are always the best part of the game, ha! Samuel always has to remind himself that he only gets snacks after games and not after practice. He's focused on the snacks.
I love cheering on my boys during games.
The coach tries to separate them (at my request- so Nathan doesn't worry about what Samuel's doing during the game- even though that hasn't really been an issue), so I have a boy playing practically the whole game.
Nathan helped a teammate score a goal and has blocked several goals too. It's fun to see his improvement from last year.
Elisabeth is a good cheerleader when she's not distracted. She likes to yell, "Go Brothers Go!"
It's sure been fun spending our Saturday mornings (when it's not raining) on the soccer field!
