Valentine's Day 2017

We had such a fun day celebrating our love for each other on Valentine's Day. I'm a fan of a day that's all about telling people that you love them and lots of extra hugs and kisses.

We've had a tradition for years to have heat shaped pancakes, so of course that was a great start to the day.

Samuel and Elisabeth actually had dentist appointments scheduled that morning. It was their first visit, and they were both awesome! They were both super well behaved and compliant. It was a great first visit! Elisabeth has been showing everyone her princess sparkly teeth.

Tuesday afternoon, I helped with Nathan's class Valentine party. We made love glasses and decorated cookies. All the kids had a great time, and I always enjoy being able to be active and involved in his classroom.

He could not wait to get home and open all his Valentines from his friends.

Tuesday night we had a family celebration. The kids had fondue for the first time and they were BIG fans. Nathan said it was his favorite dinner EVER (even better than spaghetti and meatballs AND pizza).

During dinner we all shared reasons why we love each other. Nathan shared that he loves Samuel when they have sleepovers at night and play Legos at bedtime. Nathan said he loves Elisabeth because she makes him laugh. Samuel said he loves when Nathan and Elisabeth play with him.

Nathan loves my hugs and kisses and when Daddy plays Legos with him. Elisabeth loves when Mommy and Daddy play with her, and Samuel loves Mommy because she makes him dinner and loves Daddy the most when he's not at work :)

Last year we started the tradition of a Valentine's Day treasure hunt. The kids were pumped to do it again. They could hardly wait for Daddy to get home and dinner to be over to start the treasure hunt. I hid five clues around the house, and they worked really well together to find their prize...

which was in the shower!

The presents were a hit! So we spent the next hour playing with their new toys.

Then it was time for dessert fondue. It was as big of a hit as dinner.

I love that Elisabeth eventually just started eating her chocolate with her spoon. Dipping strawberries is too much work. Ha!

Samuel and Elisabeth had their class parties the next day. They were both so excited!

Elisabeth got to decorate a cookie and get her sack of Valentines from her friends.

Samuel's class sang songs, played a game and then got to exchange Valentines. Samuel's favorite part of the party was giving all his friends their Valentines (and going through his box to see all the goodies he received).

It was a great two days celebrating all things LOVE
