We try and take the kids to Frontier City one time each summer. Matt had some time off work he had to take, so we took last Wednesday and drove to OKC. Matt's parents and sister joined us, and since we had extra help, we brought Elisabeth too. She's a little young, but she still had a great time.
The boys were so excited about our day! Nathan remembered all the rides and couldn't wait to spend the day riding rides. He said he was most excited about seeing the magic show.
Our first stop of the day were the dragons. They are always a hit!
The boys rode the Wild Kitty. Elisabeth was too short.
We brought Nathan to Frontier City for the first time two years ago, and this little train was his favorite ride. He called it the carrot train and especially liked that he could ring the bell. He wasn't as impressed this time around, but still was happy to ride it with his brother and sister.
All three loved the little canoes.
Nathan was tall enough to ride the Wildcat this year. He was pumped about it and said it was his favorite ride (before he even rode it). He seemed pretty terrified during the ride but wouldn't admit it. He rode it another time with Daddy, but we're still not sure how much he really did like it.
The log ride is always a hit. We wanted to ride it again later in the day, but it was closed. We were all (except Elisabeth) a little disappointed.
Nathan was so worried all day that we would miss the magic show. We made sure we didn't miss it. He loved it as much as ever, and was trying to do his own tricks the rest of the day.
We let the kids play on the playgrounds for awhile in the afternoon. They never get tired of playing.
Then we rode more rides. Everyone caught a second wind and were ready to go, go, go some more.
Elisabeth's favorite ride was the tea cups which is fitting :)
We rode the pirate ship plenty of times. Elisabeth didn't like it the one time she rode it, but the rest of us rode it over and over.
I just love taking Samuel to amusement parks. He's my most reserved child and doesn't show his emotions as openly as my other two, but on rides he lets loose and shows so much emotion and personality, and I eat it up. He's adorable and so, so fun! He kept saying, "I like going high." "I like going, up, up, up!"
The boys both wanted to ride the Steel Lasso. We rode it several times too.
Samuel is fearless. As soon as the ride stopped he asked to ride it again and held his hands up the whole time.
Elisabeth finally gave up and fell asleep in the stroller. No nap and an active hot day caught up with her.
She didn't even know we rode the Ferris Wheel. She was out, and I love that sweet memory of her sleeping peacefully after a busy, fun day.
The kids were all so well behaved, and we had the best day. No one even threw a fit when we had to leave. We can't wait to come back, and maybe we're all dreaming about a Disney trip too...
