Splish Splash, It's a Mermaid Bash!

We had a great party celebrating our awesome four year old! She's insisted on a mermaid party for months and never wavered in her decision. The boys both had their parties at Bounce U this year, so it felt like it had been a long time since we'd had a party at our house. It was definitely a lot more work, but I enjoyed all the planning and details and girly fun involved.

We took her mermaid costume with us to the beach back in May to get a picture for her invitation. I loved them!

She insisted on wearing a tiara for her birthday and we both loved her mermaid dress.
For snacks we had sausage balls (her favorite), cheese and crackers, ocean jello, clam shell cookies, grape "seaweed" and mermaid cupcakes. It was fun to plan all the under the sea snacks.

Sweet girl was just a little excited about her party :)

There was glitter everywhere from this banner. Life with girls...
We invited family and family friends. All of Elisabeth's little friends' parents are our friends too, which is fun.

Elisabeth loves playing with her friends, so to have all of them together in one place to play with her, made her day super special.
The kids were a fan of the snacks!

Elisabeth wanted to play pin the tail on the mermaid. They all had fun!

Then we went outside for a mermaid pinata. We chose a pull string pinata and it worked out really well.

Sweet, sweet friends!!
We sang to the birthday girl and ate cupcakes.

These two kids are the best around. They willingly gave up their seats for the little kids.
I love having a house full of people we love.

After cupcakes, it was time for Elisabeth's favorite part of the party, presents!! That girl is a gift girl and she loved all of her presents- shopkins, calico critters, a mermaid blanket, books, barbies, everything.

After she opened all her gifts everyone stayed for awhile and played with all her new toys.

Elisabeth had the best time at her party. We're so thankful for such good friends and family to celebrate her precious life with.

Elisabeth's 4th Birthday

Elisabeth had a great 4th birthday. She's been talking about it and planning it for months. She kept saying I can't believe I'm finally four. She planned out her whole day. She got to open one present the morning of her birthday (the rest had to wait until that evening).

We got her a new copy of the Little Mermaid DVD because ours broke.

The kids watched it all together that morning. Elisabeth has a hard time sitting still and watching movies, but I forced her to because I knew if she sat through it and paid attention, she'd really like it, and she did! She kept asking questions about the plot all day.

For breakfast she requested pancakes with sprinkles and a candle. We sang Happy Birthday to her and she ate up all the attention.

She wanted to eat lunch at McDonalds, and we invited some of her best friends to join us.

She also had her first day of Gymnastics on her birthday which made it extra fun!
After gymnastics we came home and at spaghetti and meatballs (Her all time favorite meal). And because it was a special day, I even made garlic bread which is a big treat in our family. Everyone gobbled it up.
After dinner we finally let her open her presents from family.

Matt and I got her a Calico Critters tree house and the boys got her accessories to go with it.
She's been asking for a new Elsa dress for her birthday and I snagged one at a consignment sale, so that's what Katherine got her for her birthday :)

This is Four!!

We had her birthday party Saturday morning and then continued celebrating afterward. We invited her guests to stay and swim with us after the party and a few were able to come.

My friends' daughter Dailee was able to come too and brought Elisabeth a little gift.
Saturday evening we went to the mall to play and for dinner. Elisabeth got to go to Build a Bear and get a birthday bear. She was so excited about it.

We had a fun time celebrating our girl!
