Mariner of the Seas Vacation, Day 5

On Friday, our ship stopped at our second port, Costa Maya. This was a new stop for us, and we booked an excursion to a giant lagoon that included kayaks, swimming, and lunch.

We arrived at the resort and had the place to ourselves, so nice!

The kids immediately hopped in the water while we waited for our kayaks to be ready.

Then we took off for a kayaking adventure. The kids were extra excited because they got to kayak in a single kayak instead of a double- a new experience for them. Katherine hopped in with Matt, but the other three were on their own, and they all did great!

We kayaked down the lagoon for a while and then turned around. Samuel was the rockstar and was always in the lead never wanting to stop, but Nathan and Elisabeth were ready to turn around about 20 minutes into the ride.

The water was so clear and beautiful.

We came back and enjoyed some yummy drinks and relaxed a little before lunch.

For lunch we had authentic Mexican tacos, chips and salsa. They were delicious. Nathan was especially excited about the authentic lunch.

We had another hour or so after lunch to play in the water. The kids found all sorts of big rocks and made a game out of stacking them up on the shore.

The Bacalar Lagoon was very good to us! We had an awesome day.

We made it back to port and did some shopping before boarding our ship.
The water at the port was a beautiful teal color and the waves crashing along the rocks were just beautiful.

Sam and Katherine bought color changing shirts as souvenirs. I think Samuel came home with the absolute perfect souvenir for him!
A cute little frog greeted us in our room after our big day.
That evening the waiters put on a show for us. We were very impressed with our wait staff for the week. Our waiter took such great care of us, bringing us extra food, remembering our favorites, and engaging so well with our kids. Their service was a highlight of our entire trip.

Katherine was dancing along with the waiters.

That evening, Elisabetha asked to participate in karaoke. Sam joined her. I sure love these fearless kids of mine. And the audience was so kind and encouraging to them as they sang.
