Texas Vacation, The Farm

We arrived back at the farm on Monday afternoon, and the next two days were filled with board games, puzzling, riding vehicles, playing outside, shooting and exploring. It was such a nice time escaping reality and spending quality time with friends.

Brooke gave me a tour of the property.
Matt drove me around some too. I was very content being the passenger princess.

These girls are trouble when they're together. The personalities match so well, but we worry about them when they go off on their own, ha!

Brooke and I pulled out a puzzle while the boys were playing/working.

There was a huge storm that moved in Tuesday around lunchtime. We rushed back and got everything in shelter and then sat on the porch and watched the storm.

This was actually one of my favorite memories, hearing the rain, watching the trees and visiting with some of my favorite people.

Tuesday afternoon we pulled out the guns.

It was the sweetest thing when Wyatt took the time to help Katherine shoot.

Tuesday evening we drove into town to take Matt out for a birthday dinner. I surprised him with a cheesecake for dessert.
This is a table full of people who fill my tank. Love them all!
We came back and finished our puzzle!
Wednesday morning we packed and cleaned and said goodbye to the farm. There is a tradition to take a photo at the gate. Since Joe and Robin couldn't come back to the farm with us, the girls made posters of them, so they could be in the picture.

Our week with friends exploring Texas was such a treat. Spending quality time with our friends in some of their favorite places and watching our kids play and be free and their friendships deepen is something I'll remember forever. We're so thankful for such dear friends and are looking forward to our next joint family vacation.

Texas Vacation, Houston

Our dear friends, the Shondelmyers invited us to join them on their twins' 10 year old birthday trip to Texas. We happily accepted their invitation and were ready or some quality time with friends who have become family over the past almost 20 years.

We left Tulsa on Friday afternoon and drove down to the Davis' farm in Crockett. We've listened to Brooke and Corey talk about the farm for years, and we were excited to experience it with them.

These boys were ready for some adventuring.
Saturday morning all the girls left the boys at the farm and drove into Houston to spend some time at the Davis' house as per Kaydence's birthday request.

Their sweet grandbaby was also visiting for the weekend, and she was the highlight of the trip for all of us.
We grabbed some lunch at Chick Fil A, and then headed back to the house for swimming.

We also spent the afternoon with Brooke's friend Vanessa and her daughter Kathleen who provided a playmate for Katherine.

We visited the pets at their house Saturday afternoon. Their rabbits are a lot bigger than Honey.

The girls spent the afternoon swimming, watching movies in the theater room, eating pizza and playing Calico Critters.

On Sunday morning, Aunt Roro gave us all a ride in her Tesla.

The Caraoke was the girls favorite feature (So funny because the boys were interested in other things, ha!)

We came back and spent a few hours in the pool.

On Sunday afternoon, the boys came into town to join in on the fun. They swam, and we had a big cookout on Sunday evening. It was just the best time with our new and old friends all together.

Elisabeth was excited to show her brothers the movie room.

Katherine approves of vacation breakfasts!
She also bonded with Aunt Roro during our visit. She asked if she could come to Houston to celebrate her birthday in September :)

The boys got their turn to check out the Tesla. Nathan was beaming!

On Monday morning, we said goodbye to the Davis' and made the drive back to the farm.
