Daddy Daughter Dance

 Matt and the girls were very excited to attend the Daddy Daughter Dance again this year. 

I took them shopping at a local consignment store to find new dresses for the dance. 

Those girls adore their Daddy. What a special night for them.

The danced the night away and then went to dinner at Braums. 

While they were off dancing, and Nathan was at a youth event at church, Samuel and I enjoyed a date of our own at Hideaway, and then he taught me how to play a new Mario Switch game he had gotten for Christmas. 

Katherine danced until she dropped!

All around it was a great night for everyone!

February Fun

 Even in the middle of winter, things are always bright around here. 

These two spent a morning working on science experiments. 

Samuel recreated a science experiment he did in his science class at co-op.

This toothless Cutie is always smiling. I think she was pretending to be a butterfly in this picture. 

Katherine's class learned about polar bears one week during her Fun Class. They all held their pictures up high because Polar Bears live in the North Pole. 

The creator of the kids' writing/Language Arts curriculum spoke at an event in Tulsa, and the kids asked me to take a picture of Mr. Pudewa. He's famous to them!

And she lost even more teeth in February. I can't get over her toothless smile. 

These two convinced us to take them to an American Heritage Girls and Trail Life roller skating event. 

Samuel and Elisabeth had been studying cows in their Zoology class, and their class was invited to visit a cow milking demonstration. 

They were spoiled with ice cream at the end of the demonstration. 

Samuel is always happiest when he's with animals. 

We are all enjoying cute little Honey. She's a big fan of apples

The girls celebrated Mackenzie with the cutest cow party. 

On nicer days, we spent our afternoons in Kidsborough with the best neighbors in all the land. 

I'll never get over the blessing it is to live so close to so many of our best friends. These kids are living their best childhoods with all these kids. 

Samuel is always creating and building in Kidsborough. He built this new shelter. 

A friend told me about a Cat Kid Comic Club Musical coming to Tulsa, and I snatched up tickets immediately. These books are some of Samuel's very favorite. He was so excited about the show. 

They laughed the entire time. 

Bedlam Basketball

Since Samuel and Elisabeth are both playing basketball this winter, we prioritized taking them to see an OSU women's basketball game. It even worked out in our schedule to watch Bedlam.

Katherine got a pour nap on the drive. 

The kids really enjoyed watching the game (even if the Cowgirls couldn't pull out  a win)

This girl makes every activity more fun. 

She especially loved watching the cheerleaders and dancing along to the band. 

Matt is coaching Elisabeth's basketball team this season, and they both love it.

We're raising these kids right to love OSU just like we did!

We took them down on the court after the game, which they all enjoyed. 

Nathan is full of OSU spirit. 

Katherine did cartwheels up and down the court. 

We ended the night with dinner at Hideaway. We all agreed we like Broken Arrow's Hideaway better than the original. 

 It was such a fun family day with my favorite people. 

January Happenings

January is generally a slower month for us, but we always still manage to find fun things to do! Katherine has enjoyed playing all the new games she got for Christmas. 

We took advantage of Christmas Break and squeezed in a couple of more play dates, before everyone returned to school. A day with the Dalmans is always a great day!

They've been doing this "Best Day Ever" chant at the end of every get together since they were toddlers. 

We also found another day to visit the Shondelmyers. 

It's too bad these kids can never find anything fun to do :)

Katherine enjoyed playing with the guinea pigs. 

No play date is complete without these two playing Roblox. 

We received the tiniest amount of snow one day in January, and these girls were immediately outside with the sled. We Okies take what we can get. 

Katherine and Samuel both had strep reinfections pretty much immediately after they completed their first round of antibiotics. That was definitely a not fun part of January. This poor kid was not feeling well. 

The best part of January included a new pet! We sadly lost our first rabbit in November, and the kids had patiently been waiting for a new litter to be born. We picked up Honey in the middle of January, and she's been such a wonderful new pet. Sweet and cuddly and litter boxed trained :)

One of our friends from co-op was performing in Cinderella, and we were so excited to watch her. Katherine dressed up as Cinderella for the occasion. 

Katherine idolizes Hannah and Hannah is always so kind to play with and talk to Katherine. It's a precious relationship, and one of the many, many reasons we love homeschooling and the opportunity for our kids to form relationships with kids that are different ages. 

We got a little more snow/ice at the end of January- enough to go sledding one afternoon. 

It was freezing cold, but we got to play outside for a little while at least. 

Samuel even made a snow bunny.

We also had some huge icicles hanging off of Honey's pen. 

Sweet girl needed to warm up by the fire after being outside playing. 

Samuel created even more snow pictures. 

Katherine has rocked homeschooling this year. We found some time to do a few science experiments one morning. She's the cutest scientist I know!

Samuel is still taking weekly piano lessons. His favorite song he has learned is Fur Elise. He's improved so much in playing it!

After just a couple of weeks, Honey had grown so much. She loves sleeping in her little box home.
