Samuel and Elisabeth's gym hosted a showcase for all their recreational gymnasts. The kids worked on their routines/stations for weeks, and were so excited to get to perform. We've stayed away from the competitive side of gymnastics for a multitude of reasons, so I was happy that they still found a way for the recreational kids to get to perform.
Elisabeth was up first on Saturday morning.
The girls performed in stations rather than routines. She did great! Gymnastics is an activity she's stuck with the longest. There's no end in sight with her either. She's gained strength, flexibility and skills. It's great exercise for her.
She ran out of time and didn't get to perform her front flip on the trampoline, so I caught a video of it at her class on Monday.
We headed back to the gym Saturday afternoon for Sam's turn. The boys performed routines on each of the apparatuses.
The kids had a fun time showing off all their hard work.
Our June has been full of all things summer. We've tried to make the most of our time.
The girls were proud to be matching one day- even their finger nails matched.

I spent the first weekend in June with these lovely ladies on our annual girls' weekend. This is the only picture I took, but we shopped, ate, played games and fellowshipped all weekend long. It was marvelous.
Then Erica and I showed up to the first day of music camp in matching outfits. Great friends think alike.
The girls and I went to the theater to see the new Little Mermaid movie. The original Little Mermaid was the first movie I saw in the theater as a kid, so it was special to take them to see the remake. We all enjoyed it. The girls particularly enjoyed the new song Scuttlebutt.
For Christmas I asked for tickets to see the Lion King Broadway Tour. It did not disappoint. The animals walking down the aisles is such a cool effect. We all loved all the animal puppets/costumes.
I took some of the kids to the bathroom during intermission, and Katherine insisted on a photo.
Then she insisted on another one at the end of the show, so the whole family could be in it.
This summer, the kids have been meal planning and cooking dinner. Elisabeth chose Cozy Cottage Chicken. She did a great job.
Her ice cream sandwiches for dessert were equally delicious.
We had a playdate with the Ivys and Overtons at our house. I didn't take pictures of the big girls, but the Little Ones paraded through showing off all the matching princess dresses we own. I didn't realize we had so many!
We spent a day up at church decorating for VBS. The theme was all about games, which was fun to decorate. The kids helped me so much! They had great ideas and were able to execute them with minimal help from me.

Samuel designed and decorated the door all on his own. He did a great job!
Mackenzie came home and spent the afternoon with us after decorating. When we got home, Katherine asked if they could put makeup on. I should have clarified about the makeup, because I turned around to check on them and Mackenzie's face was blue, ha! I told Chandra, she's never going to let me watch Mackenzie again after I sent her the pics.
They performed a Bluey Show for us.
After their Bluey show, they had popsicles in the backyard.
Katherine set up a jewelry store in our living room. Love that I get to witness these cute moments everyday.
We also spent an afternoon with the Breedens at their pool. Pool playdates are the best playdates.
The kids asked to set up a "water park" in our backyard one morning. Then they invited the neighbors over for some water fun.
It's also nice that they're big enough to set up/tear down everything on their own. We have arrived!
They ended the afternoon with a water balloon fight.
These cuties made their own tiny swimming pool.
I've tried to maintain some margin in our schedule this summer for spontaneous summer fun. It's been great so far!
