Easter 2023

Our Easter was filled with friends, eggs, candy, family and worship. The best kind of Easter!

The morning of Good Friday we participated in an Easter Egg hunt with our co-op. It was such a fun morning with sweet fellowship and beautiful weather. 

The kids found all sorts of goodies in their eggs. 

This group of kiddos (and their moms) have become such a dear blessing to our family this year. 

After the Easter Egg hunt, we spent the afternoon playing outside with Daddy since he had the afternoon off work. 

That evening we attended our church's Good Friday service. The auditorium was packed full of people, and it was a great service. Afterward, the kids were ready for the helicopter egg hunt.

Nathan ditched us this year and spent the night with Papa. He's growing up!

 

We spent some time on Saturday stuffing eggs. The girls also had their first soccer games of the season. 

Sunday morning the kids woke up to their Easter baskets filled with some treats. 

Then we got ready for church. This sweet girl is also growing up too quickly. 

I always say Easter is my favorite Sunday of the year. We all enjoyed worshipping our Risen Savior together. It was more poignant this year after experiencing the sting of death in our family this year. 

After church we captured a few pictures of the kids in their Easter best. 

Then we got to work preparing Easter lunch. Each of the kids worked on part of the meal. Nathan always looks forward to the strawberry fluff salad. 

Elisabeth decorated this nest cake all by herself. She did a great job!

And Samuel made deviled eggs for us. 

Matt grilled pork tenderloin and we had a delicious lunch. Papa joined us too. 

After lunch, Matt hid eggs in the backyard, and the kids got to hunting. 

I had a few books/art supplies/sciency school things that I had accumulated for the kids and decided to hide some clues in their eggs for them to find them. Usually they get a few gift type things in their individual Easter baskets, but these were more family gifts, so this was a fun way to have them work together. We may have to make it a tradition. 

We ended Easter afternoon with naps and rest time. It was such a great weekend with my favorite people. 

March Madness, Part 2

 After Samuel's birthday and Spring Break, there was still plenty of fun left in March. 

Katherine absolutely loves school! She looks forward to going every single day. She has wonderful teachers, great friends, and has learned and grown so much. 

She also has wonderful Sunday school teachers. 

Matt had a work event at Main Event, and Nathan tagged along while the rest of us were at AHG and Trail Life. He was living his best life doing the ropes course, laser tag and bowling. 

Meanwhile this big girl got to help lead the flag ceremony at AHG. She's so big!

She may be big, but she still falls asleep on her daddy.

Elisabeth participated in a World Heritage Night at AHG. She chose Ukraine as her country and learned a lot about it from our sweet neighbor. She prepared a recipe and a craft and shared some facts about the country. 

We get to work in Katherine's Sunday School class at church once a month, and every single time the kids ask Matt to build a tall block tower. He always happily agrees. 

These two had a fun morning at Donuts with Dad. They have the sweetest relationship. 

Elisabeth is playing soccer this year and thoroughly enjoyed her first practice. She's a leader and an encourager and competitive and aggressive- all things that should contribute to a successful season.
